2013 Village Gallery Art Challenge

I'm currently working on my four 6 x 6 x 1 inch canvases for the 4th annual Art Challenge show at the Village Gallery of Oregon in Cedar Mill (next to the Cedar Mill Library). These are works in progress. All 4 canvases must have the same theme, so my theme is 'Lights and Shadows in the Garden'. The Art Challenge is a fundraiser for capital improvements at the Gallery which is a 501c3 non profit teaching gallery in existence for 50 years. The show is held the month of May and all walls are filled beautifully with the works of about 100 artists.

This is a view of Fanno Creek along the trail between Denney Road and Hall Blvd near my residence. I applied a bright underpainting which shows through. May still need a few touches before it's finished. 8 x 8 x .75 acrylic on canvas.
