I'm going for an impressionistic feel perhaps leaning a bit into the abstract for my nature paintings. I haven't used reds/pinks much in my former work so this is fun. The photo does not reflect the saturation of the orange or the violet blues, but it's difficult to get all colors represented perfectly.
MELODY CLEARY - CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE, WATERSCAPE AND NATURE PAINTINGS
I haven't done a larger painting in a while
due to shoulder issues, and have to work
for short periods if I do. This is an
18x24 abstract floral I'm working on
- happy with it so far but it is 'in process'.
CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACT PAINTINGS
This evolved from putting down more intense reds and adding some collage pieces from a lovely
envelope that I had saved. Soon to be varnished.
8 x 10 x 7/8 inch wrapped canvas. Acrylic.
Contact me to inquire.
A critique group challenge: receive a shoebox filled with another artist's sampling of leftover collage papers and other materials and then create a composition with them + paint on any substrate.
This is my progress thus far....almost finished, I think. I will post the finished piece soon.
MELODY CLEARY - LANDSCAPE, WATERSCAPE AND NATURE PAINTINGS
One of my art works has been juried into this show. I'll have an art bin of unframed
works, too, most are stretched canvases and one is a matted piece on paper.
If you're in the area, hope you can attend. Thanks!
Oh, this is the piece that was juried in:

MELODY CLEARY, OREGON ARTIST - LANDSCAPE, NATURE AND ABSTRACT PAINTINGS
© Melody Cleary. After my art critique group met, I realized the dark green areas of this painting needed some lightening up. I like it much better now. It's very hard to photograph the blue color, but this is a very close representation.
