These are unframed, 1 3/8" deep canvases that have the painting continue around the sides so the painting is not obstructed by a frame. It creates a nice 3D effect on a wall. If one wishes to frame it they can do so.
Subject: Birch trees in my neighborhood. The background was painted entirely first. Then painted papers were cut & collaged to 'build' the trees and provide texture. More paint was applied to bring the trees to life.
