Received an Award of Distinction by juror Stephen Quiller at the
Watercolor Society of Oregon 2010 Spring Show.
This image evolved from a totally different concept.
After working just with shapes and brushing on some opaque glazes,
the organic or catacomb-like forms took shape. The addition of
small rectangles became stairs, and I worked some geometric shapes
to represent a person. And,of course, heaven, or our goal
or search for enlightenment, is a bright light at the top of the stairs.
